Our company is committed to complying with the responsibilities and requirements of the "Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance" (hereinafter referred to as the "Ordinance"). All our employees must keep confidential all personal data collected and/or stored and/or used by the company, and are dedicated to proper data protection in accordance with the Ordinance.

Purpose and Method of Collecting Personal Data

In order to comply with the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (including the Estate Agents Ordinance and related regulations) for verification of the identities of buyers and sellers, prevention of money laundering, and to enable L & Lam Property Agency Limited (hereinafter “L & Lam”) to conduct sales, provide services, register and manage accounts, we may collect your personal data when you:

  • Sign an estate agency agreement authorizing our company as your agent;
  • Sign a provisional sale and purchase agreement or tenancy agreement;
  • Subscribe for a first-hand property;
  • Contact our company for inquiries or complaints;
  • Participate in promotions, competitions, or lucky draws organized by our company;
  • Use our company's intermediary services;
  • Use or browse our company’s website.

We will collect the following personal data from you. If you do not provide such information, our company reserves the right not to provide services to you so as to avoid contravening relevant laws or regulations.

Types of Personal Data

The personal data collected by our company include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Your name in Chinese and English;
  • Identification information for verifying your identity, including copies and numbers of identification documents;
  • Contact telephone number and/or email address;
  • Correspondence or billing address;

Our company will, as far as practicable, verify the information provided through industry-accepted practices and standards, including checking the names and identification numbers of both parties on identification documents.

We will retain personal data for at least five years after collection as required by Hong Kong law. Thereafter, the data will be destroyed unless retention is necessary for compliance with legal or contractual obligations or for investigation and prosecution of crimes. Personal data will only be kept for as long as necessary for the relevant purpose.

Only employees who have a legitimate need to contact you to provide services or who have reasonable work-related needs will have access to your personal data.

Our company is committed to protecting the information you provide. However, due to the nature of the Internet, absolute security cannot be guaranteed.   • In accordance with the Ordinance, our company may charge a reasonable fee to process data access requests.

Our company intends to use your name, phone number, fax number, email address, and address for promotional purposes related to real estate agency services. However, we will not use your personal data for such purposes without your consent.
